Police Blotter

On November 30:

● 12:59 a.m. Deputies responded to Park ST, Village of Benton for a domestic dispute. As a result, Tristan C Swift, 18, Benton was arrested for Assault of a Child. Swift was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and currently remains.

● 3:14 a.m. Deputies responded to STH 11, Village of Gratiot for a one vehicle rollover. Joel Gonzalez Garcia failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the guardrail causing the vehicle to rollover. No injuries were reported. Gonzalez Garcia’s 2010 Ford received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Gonzalez Garcia was cited for Failure to Stop, Failure to Maintain Control, Operating without Insurance, and Operating without Valid License. Gratiot First Response, Gratiot Fire Department, and Green County EMS assisted on scene.

● 6:17 p.m. Robert A Stauffacher, 74, Monroe reported striking a deer on STH 11, New Diggings Township. No injuries were reported. Stauffacher’s 2023 Hyundai received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

On December 1: 

● 5:33 p.m. Kirsten N Frautschy, 21, Freeport, IL reported striking a deer on STH 11, Wayne Township. No injuries were reported. Frautschy’s 2020 Nissan received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

● 6:03 p.m. Gregrey D Isely, 65, Argyle reported striking a deer on STH 81, Argyle Township. No injuries were reported. Isely’s 2022 Chevrolet received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

● 6:22 p.m. A deputy responded to Fork RD, Wiota Township for a one vehicle accident. Francisco Navarro-Esteban, 16, Darlington was driving and lost control of the vehicle causing it to rollover. The driver and his passenger were uninjured. Navarro-Esteban was cited for Operating by Permittee after Dark without Person over 25, Failure to Maintain Control, and Operating without Insurance. Navarro-Esteban’s 2004 Chevrolet received disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

● 8:49 p.m. Connie M Slyter, 69, Cedar Rapids, IA reported striking a deer on STH 11, Gratiot Township. No injuries were reported. Slyter’s 2024 Subaru received minor damage and was driven from the scene.  

On December 2:

● 2:22 p.m. A deputy responded to Thor LN, Wiota Township for a restraining order violation.

On December 3:

● 8:29 p.m. Deputies responded to W Water ST in the City of Shullsburg for check welfare. Jason J Durr, 47, Platteville was arrested for Bail Jumping, Battery to Law Enforcement, and Threats to Law Enforcement and brought to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and remains in custody.

On December 4:

● 4:15 p.m. Terry L Patterson, 67, Browntown was arrested on W Center ST, Village of South Wayne for Operating while Intoxicated with a Prohibited BAC. Furthermore, Patterson was cited for Operating without Insurance and Non-Registration. Patterson was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and released on a signature bond.
