On July 31:

● 8:03 p.m. Deputies, Belmont EMS, and Belmont Fire responded to Holland RD, Seymour Township for a one vehicle rollover. Artemio F. Rico, 16, Darlington was travelling on Holland RD when he lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, and entered the ditch causing his vehicle to roll. Rico reported no injuries. Rico’s 2001 Chevrolet received disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

On August 1:

● 12:23 p.m. Adriana J Melssen,16, Platteville reported striking a deer on CTH G, Belmont Township. Melssen’s 2024 Chevy Trailblazer received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

On August 2

● 4:53 p.m. Gage A. Zink,17, Hazel Green was traveling westbound on STH 81, Seymour Township when he went unconscious and crossed the center line entering the south side ditch hitting a culvert and rolling his truck end to end and coming to rest on its wheels. Zink’s 2017 Ford received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Zink was transported to Southwest Health in Platteville with NON life threatening injuries. Lafayette County EMS, Darlington Fire, and Deputies assisted.

On August 7: 

● 2:27 a.m. A deputy responded to a one vehicle accident on STH 81, Seymour Township. John A. Martinez-Esteban, 21, Platteville was traveling on STH 81, when he fell asleep and entered the ditch. No injuries were reported, and his 2014 Ford was towed from the scene. Martinez-Esteban was cited for Failure to Maintain Control and No Insurance. He was booked into the Lafayette County Jail for Operating without a License — Third Offense. He later posted bond and was released to a responsible party.

On August 10:

● 2:12 p.m. A deputy, Shullsburg EMS, and Shullsburg Fire responded to Silverthorn RD, Shullsburg Township for a two vehicle accident. Carla J. Carns, 62, Cuba City was travelling on Silverthorn RD when she was struck by an oncoming car operated by Maria E. Freed, 20, Dubuque while negotiating a corner. Carns, Freed, and Freed’s passengers all reported no injuries. Carns’ 2008 Toyota received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Freed’s 2015 Toyota received functional damage and was towed from the scene.

On August 15:

● 8:48 p.m.  Deputies responded to Dawn Vista Dr, Village of Belmont for Domestic Abuse. Andres Garcia-Hernandez, 27, Belmont was arrested for Domestic Disorderly Conduct, Domestic Battery, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Operating without a License 2nd Offense. He was booked into the Lafayette County Jail.
