On March 3:

● 4:21 p.m. Gratiot Fire and Green County EMS responded to CTH KK, Gratiot Township for a grass fire.

● 4:46 p.m. Deputies responded to CTH F, Fayette Township for suspicious circumstances.

On March 4:

● 6:13 p.m. Rebecca A Ruff, 57, Woodman reported striking a deer on STH 11, New Diggings Township. No injuries were reported, and Ruff’s 2022 Mazda received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

On March 5:

● 1:01 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH H, Blanchard Township for a minor two vehicle accident. Dennis D Swiggum, 77, Blanchardville was traveling southbound on STH 78 in his 2004 Chevrolet when he attempted to turn east onto CTH H. John E Love, 65, Hollandale was traveling north on STH 78 in his 1998 Jeep. Love was traveling around a curve when Swiggum turned in front of Love, causing a collision. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were driven from the scene with minor damage.

● 4:53 p.m. Seth A Paulson, 26, Gratiot was arrested for Operating after Revocation on STH 11, Benton Township. Paulson was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and released. Paulson was also cited for Failure to Install IID and Non Registration of Auto.

● 8:35 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH XX, Belmont Township for a one vehicle accident. Jerome R Amenda, 61, Belmont was traveling on CTH XX when he fell asleep and went into the ditch, causing moderate damage to his 2022 Ford. His vehicle was towed from the scene and Amenda was cited for Inattentive Driving.

On March 6:

● 11:10 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 23, Darlington Township for a two vehicle accident. Darlington Fire, Darlington Police Department and Lafayette County EMS assisted on scene.

On March 9:

● 1:19 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH J, Benton Township for a vehicle in the ditch.

● 3:35 p.m. A deputy responded to Burr Oak RD, Belmont Township for theft.

On March 11:

● 7:00 a.m. Cody R Krueger, 23, Mineral Point reported striking a deer on CTH M, Wiota Township.  Krueger’s 2019 Ford received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

● 1:23 p.m. A deputy responded to Mullen Rd, Shullsburg Township for a car versus cow.  Chad P Gleason, 41, Shullsburg, was traveling on Mullen Rd when he struck a cow that was in the roadway.  Gleason’s 2004 Dodge received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.  

On March 12:

● 3:30 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 11, New Diggings Township for a two vehicle accident. Brayden L Gunnell, 19, Shullsburg was traveling eastbound on STH 11 when he crossed the center line striking the oncoming westbound vehicle head on, driven by Tammy J Vaassen, 53, Cuba City.  Gunnell’s 2017 Chevrolet and Vaassen’s 2020 Toyota received severe damage and were towed from the scene. Benton Fire Department, Benton Police Department, Shullsburg Police Department, Hazel Green EMS and Shullsburg EMS assisted on scene. Both Gunnell and Vaassen were transported by EMS for non-life threatening injuries. 

● 7:55 p.m. Kristin M McNett, 45, Argyle reported striking a deer on CTH C, Argyle Township. McNett’s 2022 Volkswagen received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

On March 13: 

● 1:37 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH KK, Gratiot Township for theft.

On March 14:

● 3:10 p.m. Julie K Martens, 62, Belmont reported striking a deer on STH 81, Darlington Township. No injuries were reported. Marten’s 2019 Chevrolet received minor damage and was driven from the scene. 

● 10:58 p.m. Deputies responded to W Grove ST, Village of South Wayne for a disorderly dispute. As a result, Steven M Walsh, 45, Freeport was arrested on a valid Kenosha County warrant. Walsh was booked into the Lafayette County Jail where he remains.

On March 16:

● 3:07 a.m. A deputy responded to Crabtree Corner RD, Benton Township for a one vehicle accident. No injuries were reported. As a result. Ethan M Ohnstad, 25, Darlington was cited for Failure to Keep Vehicle Under Control. Ohnstad’s 2013 Dodge received disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
