On January 23:

● 3:07 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 11, City of Shullsburg for a two vehicle accident. Carrie A. Bowen, 43, Shullsburg was operating her vehicle in a parking lot when she struck a parked vehicle. Bowen reported no injuries. Bowen’s 2011 Ford and the 2025 Toyota owned by Michelle M. Berning, 64, Hazel Green both received functional damage and were driven from the scene. Bowen was cited for No Insurance.

On January 24:

● 1:56 a.m. A deputy, Benton Fire, Benton First Response and Hazel Green EMS responded to STH 11, Benton Township for a one vehicle accident. Craig A. Habben, 53, Gilmore City IA was traveling on STH 11 when he lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, struck a guardrail, entered the ditch and came to a stop after striking a tree. Habben was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the crash. Habben’s 2025 Chevrolet received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Habben was cited for Failure to Maintain Control, Possession of Open Intoxicants, and Obstruction

On January 26:

● 9:33 a.m. A deputy responded to Jericho RD, Belmont Township for a one-vehicle accident. David S. Hardy, 64, Benton was operating his 2011 GMC when he left the roadway and struck multiple trees, where the vehicle came to a rest. Hardy reported no injuries. Hardy was cited for Failure to Maintain Control, No Proof of Insurance, and Failure to Report an Accident. Hardy’s GMC received functional damage and was towed from the scene. Benton Police assisted.
