On August 16:
● 1:52 a.m. Jakob K. Ploessl, 24, Argyle was Cited for Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense, while traveling on Roller Coaster Rd, Darlington Township. Ploessl was brought to the Lafayette County Jail where he was eventually released to a responsible party.
● 2:28 p.m. A Deputy, Shullsburg Fire Department, and Shullsburg EMS responded to CTH U, Shullsburg Township for a Crash Detection. Kevin T. Rott,59, Platteville, reported tipping his 2003 Harley Davidson Motorcycle over which caused the crash detection to go off on his phone. No injuries were reported, and he drove from the scene.
On August 20:
● 2:40 p.m. Alice D. Buglass,84, Argyle, reported Striking a Deer on STH 81,Argyle Township. Buglass 2024 GMC received minor damage and was driven from the scene.
● 8:37 p.m. A deputy responded to W Water ST, City of Shullsburg for a traffic complaint. Ethan A. McCallister, 16, Shullsburg was cited for Unnecessary Acceleration and Following Too Close.
● 11:47 p.m. Maria D. Vega-Oviedo, 37, Shullsburg was cited for Operating Without a Valid License on County Shop Rd, Darlington Township
On August 22:
● 1:45 a.m. Todd A. McAuliffe, 52, Cuba City reported striking a deer on USH 151, Belmont Township. McAuliffe reported no injuries. McAuliffe’s 2012 Chevrolet received functional damage and was driven from the scene.
● 5:21 a.m. Brendon D. Collins, 34, South Wayne was arrested for Domestic Disorderly Conduct, Battery, and a valid WI DOC Warrant on STH 11, Wayne Township. Collins was transported to Lafayette County Jail where he was booked on his charges and remains.
● 10: 34 p.m. Frankie L. Davis, 58, Marengo IL was cited for Operating While Intoxicated on a UTV (1st Offense) and Refusal to Submit to Chemical Test on Christensen DR, City of Darlington. Davis was released to a responsible party.
On August 23:
● 10:53 a.m. A deputy, Mineral Point EMS and Mineral Point Fire responded to Fort Defiance RD, Willow Springs Township for a one vehicle accident. Robert L. Peterson, 82, Mineral Point was traveling on Fort Defiance RD when he failed to stop at the stop sign and continued through the intersection and into the ditch, coming to a rest in a nearby field. Peterson reported no injuries. Peterson’s 2017 Nissan received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Darlington police assisted.
● 12:38 p.m. A deputy responded to Main ST, Village of Gratiot for suspicious activity. As a result, Michael A. Jensen, 57, Valley Village CA was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. Jensen was transported to Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and later released.
● 6:41 p.m. A deputy, Lafayette County EMS and Darlington Fire responded to the Cheese Country Trail, Willow Springs Township for an ATV accident. Michelle L. Sosnowski, 42, Bristol was traveling on the trail when she lost control of the UTV and struck a tree. Sosnowski and her passenger, Joseph J. Sosnowski, 49, Bristol reported no injuries. Sosnowski’s 2025 Polaris received functional damage and was driven from the scene.
On August 25:
● 3:12 a.m. Kevin E. Garcia-Martinez, 27, Darlington was arrested for an active Warrant and Bail Jumping on Main ST, City of Darlington. Garcia-Martinez was transported to Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and later released after posting bond.
