On September 8:

● At 9:28 a.m.,  Deputies responded to the intersection of STH 69 & W Coates Ave., Village of Monticello, for a motor vehicle crash. An investigation revealed that a Semi unit operated by Donald P. Deckard, 84, of Crane Hill, AL was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection when he began to make a backing maneuver in the roadway. The semi struck a vehicle that was stopped behind it, operated by Amy J. Lehr, 58, of rural Monticello. All parties involved reported not being injured, wearing their seatbelts, and no airbag deployment. The vehicles sustained minor damages and were driven from the scene. Deckard was verbally warned for unsafe backing and released

On September 12:

● At 11:52 p.m., Deputies responded to the N2400 block of CTH T, in the Town of Spring Grove, for a report of a vehicle that had crashed.  Investigation found that the operator, Zhane R Sheldon, 20 of Durand IL, was traveling northbound on CTH T when a deer entered the roadway.  Sheldon swerved to miss the deer, entered the ditch line, hit some pine trees, continued into a corn field, and back onto the roadway. Sheldon reported wearing his seatbelt, and was not injured. The vehicle sustained disabling all around damage, and was towed from the scene.  Sheldon was arrested for operating while intoxicated, and operating with a PAC. Sheldon was later released pending court.

On September 14:

● At 6:07 p.m., Deputies responded to the intersection of CTH C and CTH X, Town of Brooklyn, for a two vehicle accident. Investigation found that a vehicle operated by,  John D. Wegenke, 80, of Middleton, was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of CTH X and CTH C. The other vehicle, operated by, Christi L. Langer, 65, of Brooklyn, backed out of a parking spot, along the east side of the roadway, hitting the rear passenger corner of Wegenke’s vehicle. They both advised they were uninjured and wearing their seatbelts.  Wegenke’s vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. Langer’s vehicle did not sustain any new damage and was driven from the scene.
