On October 10:

● 1:42 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a speeding violation in the N3300 block of STH 69, Town of Monroe.  Investigation resulted in the operator, Matthew E. Shutvet, 46, Madison, being cited for Possession of THC and speeding 89/55. Shutvet was released pending court.

On October 12:

● At 10:31 p.m., Deputies responded to the intersection of CTH C & Sandy Hook Road, in the Town of Brooklyn, for a single vehicle crash with no injuries. The driver, Elijah K. Duerst, 18, of Monticello, advised he was traveling westbound on CTH C when he failed to negotiate a left curve. Duerst then traveled through the intersection, where he struck a tree and then came to a rest on the yard of a residence to the west of the intersection. Duerst advised he was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured. The vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front end, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene. Duerst was later cited for Failure to Keep Vehicle Under Control and released pending court. 

On October 13:

● At 10:52 p.m., Deputies, along with Monroe Police Department, Monroe Fire Department, and Green County EMS, responded to the intersection of Melvin Road & Jeffery Road, in the Town of Clarno, for a two-vehicle crash with injuries. The investigation found that Cynthia K. Dicks, 30, of Monroe, was traveling southbound on Jeffrey Road when Scott J. Paffel, 44, of Monroe, was traveling westbound on Melvin Rd. and failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign. Dicks and Paffel then collided in the intersection. All parties advised they were wearing their seatbelts and Paffel’s passenger, Seth J. Paffel, 18, of Monroe, was transported to the hospital for further medical examination. Dicks’ vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene. Paffel’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment and was towed from the scene. 

● At 1:03 p.m., Deputies, along with Brodhead Police Department, Brodhead Fire Department, Green County EMS, and Brodhead EMS, responded to the N2200 block of CTH T, in the Town of Spring Grove, for a two-vehicle crash with injuries. The investigation found Joann S. Dill, 88, of Rockford, IL was traveling southbound on CTH T when a motorcycle operated by Cameron L. Gempeler, 23, of Beloit, collided with the rear end of Dill’s vehicle. Joann advised that she was wearing her seatbelt and she was uninjured. Joann’s vehicle sustained functional damage, with no airbag deployment, and was driven from the scene. Gempeler was wearing a helmet and was later transported to the hospital for further medical examination. Gempeler’s motorcycle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.  

● At 6:19 p.m., Deputies responded to the 100 block of N. Mill Street, in the Town of Cadiz, for a reported hit and run vehicle crash.  Following an investigation, it was found that Robert J. Ruegsegger, 69, of Darlington, was doing a burnout when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with an unoccupied parked vehicle. Ruegsegger advised he was wearing his seatbelt and he was uninjured. Ruegsegger’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene. Ruegsegger was cited for Hit and Run, Failure of Operator to Notify Police of an Accident, Too Fast for Condition, Non-Registration of Auto, and Unnecessary Acceleration. Ruegsegger was released pending court. 

● At 6:49 p.m., Deputies responded to the W8000 block of Smock Valley Road, in the Town of Jordan, for a reported domestic disturbance. The investigation resulted in Brett E. Newman, 42, of Monroe, being placed under arrest for Battery and Disorderly Conduct (both domestic abuse related). Newman was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court. 

On October 14:

● At 2:50 p.m. Deputies responded to the intersection of Legler Valley Rd & Ashley Lane, in the Town of New Glarus, for an abandoned vehicle. Further investigation resulted in the vehicle owner, Edwin D. Gashette, 26 of New Glarus, being arrested for a Felony Warrant through the Dane County Sheriff’s Office. Gashette was arrested and  turned over to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.

● At 8:33 p.m. Deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 1000 block of STH 69, in the City of Monroe. Wyatt W Brown, 19, Monroe, was cited for speeding, possession of less than 25g of marijuana, possession of psilocybin, underage possession of nicotine, non-registration of vehicle, no proof of insurance, and operating without carrying a license. He was released pending a court appearance

On October 17: 

● At 7:34 a.m., Deputies, along with Belleville Police Department and Fire Department, responded to the W3100 block of STH 92, in the Town of Exeter, for a two-vehicle crash with no injuries. The investigation found that Jeremy L. Yaun, 41, of Brooklyn, was stopped in traffic facing westbound when another westbound vehicle, driven by Taya L. Gilbertson, 16, of Belleville, failed to stop and collided with the back of a trailer being transported by Yaun. Yaun advised he was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured. Yaun’s vehicle did not sustain any damage and the trailer sustained functional damage but was driven from the scene. Gilberston advised she was wearing her seatbelt and was uninjured. Her vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
