On August 1:
● 5:15 p.m. Sally J Toepfer, 74, Apple River, IL reported striking a deer on STH 11, Wayne Township. No injuries were reported and Toepfer’s 2019 GMC received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
On August 2:
● At 11:22 p.m., Deputies, along with Browntown First Response and Green County EMS, responded to the intersection of CTH B & West River Rd., in the Town of Cadiz, for a single vehicle crash with injury. The investigation found that Melissa L. Griffin, 47, of Browntown, was traveling northbound on West River Rd. when she failed to see the intersection with CTH B. Griffin then traveled across CTH B and into a field to the north of the roadway. The vehicle then collided with a tree and came to a rest. Griffin advised she did not know if she was wearing her seatbelt and she was later transported to the hospital. The vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.
On August 3:
● At 2:31 a.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the N4400 block of STH 69, in the Town of Monroe. The investigation resulted in the driver, Jorge Luis Castellon Miranda, 26, of Monroe, being placed under arrest for an active Arrest Warrant. Castellon Miranda was additionally cited for Speeding and Operating without a Valid License. Castellon Miranda was incarcerated at the Green County Jail.
● At 12:15 p.m., Deputies, Green County EMS, and Juda Fire Department responded to the N3400 block of STH 59, in the Town of Sylvester, for a motorcycle crash with injury. The investigation found that the driver, Wendy L. Mikson, 47, of Wheaton, was traveling south when she failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The motorcycle then entered the west ditch where Mikson was ejected from the motorcycle. Mikson was not wearing a helmet and was later transported to the hospital. The motorcycle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
