On November 1:
● At 12:20 p.m., Deputies and Brodhead EMS responded to a single motor vehicle crash with injuries in the N1300 block of Mt Hope Rd, Town of Spring Grove. John L.T. Bennett, 27 of rural Brodhead, was traveling northbound, when he failed to negotiate a curve and entered the east ditch. The vehicle then traveled north through the ditch and then crossed the roadway and entered the west ditch. The vehicle then collided with a concrete barrier and rolled an unknown number of times before coming to rest on its roof. Bennett sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by EMS to an area hospital for treatment. Bennett reported wearing his seatbelt and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Bennett was cited for Failure to Control Vehicle, and Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance and was released pending court.
● At 12:47 p.m., Deputies and Monroe Police responded to a crash at the Argyle Interchange - STH 11 westbound/STH 69-81 off-ramp, in the Town of Monroe. A gray 2013 Chevrolet Equinox was at the stop sign on the westbound off-ramp from STH 11. The Chevy pulled out from the stop sign in front of a westbound straight truck on STH 69/81 operated by Michael H Kundert, 67, Monroe. Kundert took evasive action to avoid a collision, which caused the straight truck to hit a stop sign and cross over the off-ramp before coming to rest on the shoulder of STH 81. Kundert reported wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured. The straight truck sustained minor damage. The Chevy continued southbound into the City of Monroe. The crash is still under investigation.
