On July 26:
● At approximately 11:13 p.m., Deputies performed a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to stop at a flashing red signal at the intersection of 8th St and 3rd St, City of Monroe. Investigations resulted in the driver, Darwin M. Martinez Padilla, 29, of Monroe, being arrested for Operating While Intoxicated. Martinez Padilla was further cited for Operating with a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration, Failure to stop at a flashing red signal, and Operating Without a Valid Driver License. Padilla was released to a responsible party with a future court date.
On July 27:
● At 7:49 AM, due to no BHPD officers being on duty, deputies responded to the 1600 block of 1st Center Avenue/STH 11, in the City of Brodhead for a two vehicle crash with no injuries. A vehicle operated by Jayce W Ellsworth-Messa, 19, Orfordville was westbound on STH 11 when he became distracted and collided with an unoccupied, legally parked car. Jayce was not injured, he was wearing a seatbelt, and there was no airbag deployment. His, and the parked vehicle sustained disabling damage. The owner of the parked vehicle was made aware of the damage to their vehicle. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Jayce will receive citations for expired registration and inattentive driving. He was released pending a court date.
● At 2:13 p.m., deputies along with Brodhead PD, Brodhead FD, and Brodhead EMS responded to a two vehicle crash in the W900 block of STH 11, in the Town of Spring Grove. A vehicle operated by Robert J Bondy, 66, Tecumseh, Canada, was westbound, making a left turn onto Mt. Hope Rd. A vehicle operated by Tina K Herbst, 62, Monroe, was also westbound on STH 11 and rear ended Robert’s vehicle. Tina reported wearing her seatbelt and had sustained injuries. There was airbag deployment in her vehicle, and it sustained disabling front end damage. Robert and his passenger, Stacey K Eason-Bondy, 51, Tecumseh, Canada reported wearing seatbelts and sustained injuries. There was airbag deployment in his vehicle and it sustained disabling rear end damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
On July 29:
● At 2:22 p.m., Deputies responded to the W5800 block of Old Argyle Rd., in the Town of Monroe, for a vehicle versus skid loader crash. The investigation found that Michael P. Ovadal, 46, of Mount Horeb, was traveling northbound when he was struck by skid loader driven by Timothy D. Kennedy, 43, of Monroe. Ovadal reported that he was not wearing his seatbelt and was not injured. Ovadal’s vehicle sustained functional damage, with no airbag deployment, and was driven from the scene. Kennedy was not injured and the skid loader was not damaged.
On July 30:
● At 6:36 a.m., Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash in the N1800 block of County Highway G, Town of Spring Grove. Adeline J. Rosheisen, 17, Brodhead, was traveling northbound when she lost control due to the wet roadway. The vehicle entered the east ditch and came to rest. Rosheisen reported wearing her seatbelt and was uninjured. There was no airbag deployment. The vehicle sustained minor/functional damage and was driven from the scene.
● At 5:23 p.m. GRSO received 2 calls about a vehicle in the ditch in the N1800 block of CTH G, Town of Spring Grove. Leslie K Gillispie, 80, Davis, IL, was southbound when she lost control on the wet pavement, hydroplaned, and left the east side of the roadway and struck the ditch. She reported that she was wearing her seatbelt and was uninjured. There was no airbag deployment. The vehicle sustained front end damage and was towed from the scene.
● At 5:41 p.m. Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash in the W3400 block of CTH W, Town of Exeter. Vickie M Miller, 71, New Glarus, was westbound when she lost control on the wet pavement and entered the ditch. She reported wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured. The vehicle sustained functional damage with no airbag deployment, and was driven from the scene.
On July 31:
● At 8:37 a.m., WI Department Of Corrections requested a deputy respond to their office at 2841 6th St, City of Monroe, to take David Mendez, 58, Monroe, into custody for a violation. David was arrested, transported to the Green County Jail, and turned over to jail staff.
On August 1:
At 6:12 p.m., Deputies responded to the N5800 block of STH 69, in the Town of Washington, for a single vehicle crash with unknown injuries. The investigation found that the driver, Joseph V. Green, 23, of Argyle, was traveling northbound, when a vehicle ahead of him began slowing down. Green then attempted to brake, causing the vehicle to lose traction. Green then lost control of the vehicle and entered the east ditch, where the vehicle overturned and then came to a rest. Green advised he was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured. The vehicle sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and was removed from the scene.
On August 2:
● At 9:18 a.m., Deputies responded to the N8100 block of Postville Rd., in the Town of York, for a report of a subject who was struck by a vehicle. The investigation found that Roger L. Nelson, 75, of Blanchardville, was backing his vehicle when he unintentionally struck Sarah E. Boespflug, 42, of Blanchardville, who was on foot. Boespflug later transported herself to the hospital with non-life-threatening injury. The investigation resulted with Larson being cited for Unsafe Backing and released pending court.
● At 9:36 a.m., Deputies responded to the W2000 block of Preston Rd., in the Town of Spring Grove, for a reported two vehicle crash without injury. The investigation found that Joann D. Goecks, 77, of Juda, was turning westbound onto Preston Rd. as Evan R. Carey, 16, of Libertyville, IL, was traveling westbound on Preston Rd. Goecks’ vehicle then collided with the side of Carey’s vehicle. Goecks and Carey reported that they were wearing their seatbelts and were uninjured. Both vehicles sustained functional damage, with no airbag deployment, and were driven from the scene.
● At 10:37 a.m., Deputies responded to the N500 block of CTH M, in the Town of Cadiz, for a reported single motorcycle crash with injury. The investigation found that James L. Behnke, 43, of Kewanee, IL, was traveling northbound when he quickly braked to avoid a collision with another motorcycle. Behnke then lost control of his motorcycle and traveled into the shoulder, where he struck a road sign and then traveled into the ditch where the motorcycle overturned. Behnke reported that he was wearing eye protection and sustained non-life-threatening. The motorcycle sustained minor damages and was driven from the scene.
On August 4:
● At 1:24 a.m., Deputies responded to 906 W. Exchange St., in the City of Brodhead, for a report of Trevor C. Hahn, 35, of Brodhead, who had an active warrant through DOC being there. Deputies later placed Hahn under arrest for the warrant and he was incarcerated at the Green County Jail.
● At 7:39 a.m., Hailey M. Hudson 18, of Monroe, arrived at the Sheriff’s Office Lobby (2827 6th St), in the City of Monroe, to turn herself in on a warrant. Jail Deputies took Hudson into custody on the valid warrant through Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
● At 11:05 a.m., deputies responded to the W900 block of STH 59, in the Town of Albany for a hit and run crash. The property owner reported a vehicle drove through their fence, and left the scene. Jaxson P Darrow, 22, Monticello, advised he was southbound on Edmunds Road, and swerved to miss a deer, causing him to cross the highway and hit the fence. Jaxson reported wearing his seatbelt, and was uninjured. There was no airbag deployment. The truck sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene. Jaxson was cited for failure to report a crash.
● At 2:29 p.m., Deputies responded to the DOC office, 2841 6th St, Monroe, to take custody of Skylar J. Martin, 31, Monroe, for a violation. Skylar was jailed at the Green County Jail.
On August 7:
● At 9:17 a.m., Matthew J. Shores, 40, of Monroe, turned himself into the Green County Jail for an active warrant through the Department of Corrections. Shores was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail.
● At 12:02 a.m., Deputies responded to the Green County Jail to assist a subject with a property release. During the contact, it was found that the subject, Richard A. Baebler, 55, of Monticello, had an active warrant for his arrest through the Green County Sheriff’s Office. Baebler was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail.
On August 8:
● At 12:39 a.m., Deputies responded to the N2500 block of Richland Rd., in the Town of Sylvester, for a reported suspicious vehicle. The investigation resulted in Tommy Campos, 30, of Milwaukee, being placed under arrest for Operating While under the Influence. Campos was later released pending court.
● At 5:12 p.m., Deputies responded to the W700 block of Decatur Rd., in the Town of Decatur, for a single vehicle crash. The investigation found that Jason D. Borntrager, 23, of Evansville, was traveling eastbound when he failed to negotiate a curve. Borntrager then traveled into the ditch, where the vehicle struck a road sign and fence before coming to rest. Borntrager advised he was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured. The vehicle sustained functional damage, with no airbag deployment, and was driven from the scene. The investigation resulted in Borntrager being cited for Operating without Motor Vehicle Insurance.
On August 9:
● At 1:33 a.m. Deputies responded to the N3700 Block of County Highway N, Town of Monroe, for a report of a subject asleep in his vehicle on someone’s property. The investigation resulted in Misael De Jesus Rocha Lopez, 32 of Monticello, being placed under arrest for OWI 1st offense (alcohol). Misael was also cited for Prohibited Alcohol Concentration and Operating without a license. Misael was turned over to jail staff pending release to a responsible party.
● At 6:44 p.m., Deputies, along with Belleville PD and Rock County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a report of a domestic abuse incident in the 200 block of Bowman St, Village of Brooklyn. An investigation resulted in the arrest of Michael John Mason, 61, Brooklyn, for Disorderly Conduct under the Domestic Abuse Laws. He was booked into Green County Jail, posted bond, and was released.
