On March 10:
● At 11:44 p.m.,Deputies responded to the W6600 block of Smock Valley Rd., in the Town of Monroe, for a reported disturbance. The investigation resulted in Shawn S. Francis, 32, of Monroe, being placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct, falling under domestic abuse laws, and for a Probation Violation. Francis was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court.
On March 12:
● At 10:10 p.m., Deputies responded to the W2500 block of CTH SS, Town of Sylvester, for a two vehicle crash. Investigation found a vehicle operated by, Tyler D Stewart, 22, of Monroe, was eastbound on CTH SS preparing to turn northbound onto Decatur Sylvester Rd. A second vehicle operated by, Franklin R Alvarez Yanez, 37, of Rockford, was traveling east and failed to recognize Stewart’s vehicle turning. Alvarez Yanez struck Stewart’s vehicle. Stewart and Alvarez Yanez reported no injuries, reported wearing seatbelts, and no airbag deployment in either vehicle. Both vehicles sustained functional damage and were driven from the scene. Alvarez Yanez was cited for inattentive driving and released with a court date.
On March 13:
● At 5:22 a.m., Deputies responded to the N6300 block of STH 69, in the Town of Mt. Pleasant, for a two vehicle crash. The investigation found that a semi truck and trailer, driven by Laurence L. Horstmeier II, 60, of Arena, WI was traveling southbound when a gust of wind caused his semi truck and trailer to overturn. A semi truck and trailer, driven by Phillip E. Baumgartner, 66, of Monroe, WI was traveling northbound and then collided with the overturned trailer attached to Horstmeier’s vehicle due to it laying in the northbound lane of travel. Both parties advised they were wearing their seatbelts and were uninjured. Both semi trucks sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and were towed from the scene.
