Juda Fire

JUDA — A silo fire was reported on Wis. 59 near County SS at about 2:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10. Hot silage spontaneously combusted and had been burning for a few hours. The silo was smoking. Firefighters watered it down and remained on scene about three hours. No injuries were reported.

●  A combine on fire in a driveway off Sampson Road was reported at about 6:50 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14. The combination of hot equipment and a buildup of dust and corn on the machine caused the fire. Firefighters were on scene about 45 minutes. No injuries were reported.


Monroe Fire

MONROE — A possible structure fire at an apartment building on 10th Avenue Court was reported at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12. The fire was on the exterior of the building under the soffit and left very limited damage. It was determined to be accidental, with the cause unknown.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — A possible pulseless non-breather lying in the ditch off County M near Browntown was reported to dispatch at about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16. The caller was driving past and reported seeing the person in the same spot several hours earlier. Ambulances were paged to the scene but later canceled after deputies made contact with the subject. He was alive and uninjured. He was walking in the ditch looking for rocks and had been in the same area for several hours.
