Monroe Fire

MONROE — A chimney fire was reported on Dinges Road at about 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11. A passerby reported seeing fire flare out of the home’s chimney, however firefighters learned a resident had just been stoking the fire in his wood-burning stove, causing the temporary sparks. No issues were found with the stove or chimney.

●  An odor of gas was reported in the 1200 block of 12th 1/2 Street at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13. The landlord had accidentally spilled a small amount of gasoline, which was later smelled by a resident. No cause for concern was found.
