Albany Fire Department

ALBANY — Firefighters were paged to a fire on a residential porch in the 200 block of Warren Street at 1:27 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17. Garbage including plastic bags and cardboard boxes had started on fire, likely caused by hot ash blowing from a lit cigarette. No injuries were reported. The fire caused some charring and smoke damage, but overall damage was minimal. The resident who reported the fire was able to put it mostly out by the time firefighters arrived.


Darlington Fire Department

DARLINGTON — Firefighters were paged to a fire inside a residence in the 100 block of Galena Street at 5:15 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17. The combustion chamber of a hot water boiler had rusted out and failed, causing the floor underneath to catch on fire. Damage was minimal and confined to the room, with little to no smoke in the residence. No one was injured. Green County EMS of Darlington, a Lafayette County deputy and Darlington police assisted on scene.

●  Benton First Response and Hazel Green EMS responded at 9:30 a.m. to West Main Street in Benton.

●  Belmont Ambulance responded at 12:52 p.m. to West Mound View Avenue in Belmont.

●  Benton First Response and Hazel Green EMS responded at 9:27 p.m. to West Main Street in Benton.

On Saturday, Feb. 16:

●  Green County EMS of Darlington responded at 12 p.m. to East Minerva Street in Darlington. Darlington police assisted on scene.

On Sunday, Feb. 17:

●  Benton First Response and Hazel Green EMS responded at 7:55 a.m. to Whaley Court in Benton for a lift assist. A deputy assisted on scene.

●  Gratiot First Response and Green County EMS of Darlington responded at 8:55 a.m. to County KK, Town of Gratiot. A deputy assisted on scene.

●  Shullsburg EMS responded at 12:08 p.m. to West Estey Street in Shullsburg. A deputy assisted on scene.

●  Belmont EMS responded at 8:19 p.m. to Highland Street in Belmont. A deputy assisted on scene.
