● Jason Lavonne Riley, 42, Argyle, was charged April 25 with one Class I felony count of substantial battery and misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. He signed a $2,000 signature bond with conditions that he have no contact with the alleged victim or a residence on Monroe Street in Argyle, not drink or go into bars or liquor stores and not possess controlled substances or prescription medicine for which he does not have a current prescription. The case stems from a domestic dispute April 24 in the 800 block of Monroe Street in Argyle. Court records indicate Riley hit, kicked, slapped and punched a woman numerous times in the head and chest. She was left with a swollen face and had cuts to her hands and right eye. She reported she vomited from getting hit so much. She told police when Riley found out she had called a relative for help, he grabbed her by the hair and slammed her head into the wall, floor and stairs. The relative arrived and was able to push Riley out the door and lock it. Riley then reportedly broke down the door before eventually leaving.
