●  Ronald Bruce Babler, 77, Monroe, pleaded no contest Feb. 25 as part of a plea deal to a misdemeanor charge of hit-and-run and a non-criminal first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated, downgraded from a felony charge of causing injury while operating while intoxicated. His license is revoked nine months and he is ordered to complete alcohol and other drug abuse (AODA) treatment. He was fined $1,858, which he paid in full the day of his sentencing. Police reports indicate Babler crashed his vehicle at three separate intersections in Monroe on the evening of Oct. 7, with one crash injuring another driver and another crash causing a power outage after he collided with a utility pole.

●  Micah Malik Stacy, 21, Freeport, pleaded no contest Feb 25 as part of a plea deal to misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting or failing to stop for an officer, downgraded from a felony charge of fleeing or eluding an officer as a vehicle operator. A misdemeanor charge of THC possession was dismissed. He was sentenced to two years on probation, with the option for early release at 18 months with his probation agent’s approval. He is also eligible to have the convictions expunged from his record upon successful completion of probation, under a state law that grants leniency to young offenders. Police reports indicate Stacy drove away from Green County deputies attempting to stop him for speeding July 13 in the W1100 block of Wis. 11, Town of Spring Grove. He was eventually stopped in the N400 block of County G and arrested without incident.

●  Jason K. Coy, 30, Monroe, pleaded no contest Feb. 26 as part of a plea deal to a misdemeanor charge of possessing THC, downgraded from a felony possession charge. A misdemeanor charge of possessing drug paraphernalia was dismissed. He was sentenced to 20 days in jail and owes the court $443. The case stems from a traffic stop Jan. 10 in the W8900 block of Wis. 81, Town of Jordan.

●  Hali Storm Smith, 27, South Wayne, pleaded no contest Feb. 27 as part of a plea deal to a misdemeanor charge of obstructing an officer, downgraded from a felony charge of misappropriation of ID info to avoid penalty. She was sentenced to 45 days in jail, imposed and stayed, and one year on probation. The case stems from a traffic stop Aug. 25 in Monroe. Court records indicate Smith gave police a false name when asked to identify herself.

●  Sean Mikel Stichter, 28, Freeport, pleaded guilty March 5 to misdemeanor charges of possessing THC and resisting or failing to stop for an officer, downgraded from a felony charge of fleeing or eluding an officer as a vehicle operator. He was sentenced to two years on probation, which he is allowed to serve in Illinois. The case stems from an attempted traffic stop Aug. 24 in the N1400 block of County G, Town of Spring Grove. Police eventually stopped the vehicle in the 300 block of 23rd Street in Brodhead and arrested Stichter.
