Felony

•  Tyler Francis Lee Humphrey, 30, Monroe, has an initial appearance Aug. 13 on a Class H felony count of domestic abuse strangulation and suffocation and misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and battery. The case stems from an incident June 9 on County Y in the Town of Woodford. Court records indicate Humphrey returned to his residence intoxicated and had a disagreement who he chased outside when she tried to leave the home. Humphrey followed her to a vehicle where he slammed her leg in the door and pushed her to ground, placing her in a choke hold. When an officer spoke with Humphrey, he had been sleeping and said he did not remember the incident. He had a blood alcohol level of .0168 percent.


Misdemeanors

•  Phillip Edgar Ruckman, 51, New Glarus, pleaded no contest June 28 to a Class A misdemeanor bail jumping charge after violating a temporary restraining order and was sentenced to nine months on probation. He is to have no contact with the person outside of Green County court system or a lawyer, should undergo counseling and owes the court $275. Ruckman pleaded no contest in October 2017 to a Class B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. At that time a Class A misdemeanor charge of battery was dismissed as part of the plea agreement. Those charges stemmed from a domestic dispute at a residence in the W7600 block of County H in the Town of York.

•  Alesa Marie Dae Hamby, 19, Janesville, pleaded no contest June 28 to a Class B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. A Class A misdemeanor 4th degree sexual assault charge was dismissed. She was sentenced to 30 days in jail to be served concurrent with her other sentence. The case stems from earlier this year when a Green County Jail inmate accused her of unwanted touching. She owes the court $443.

Misdemeanors

• James Leroy Degraff, 28, LaGrange, Indiana, pleaded no contest June 6 to Class B misdemeanor charges of unlawful use of a phone and making threats to harm or injure via computer message. Two additional counts of threats to harm or injure were dismissed as part of plea deal. He was sentenced to two days in jail. He owes the court $510. Court records indicate on July 16, 2016, and again on Sept. 26, 2016, Degraff made threatening calls and wrote threatening texts to a Monroe resident, including a threat to “slice the throats” of her children, and told her there would be repercussions if she called police.

• Glenn Allen Johnson, 38, Brodhead, pleaded no contest June 7 to a Class B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct and was fined. He owes the court $679. The case stems from a domestic dispute Feb. 9 at his home in the 1000 block of 19th Street. According to court records, he came home “highly intoxicated” and shoved and tried to choke a woman in the presence of young children. The children were hiding under a bed and did not call police because they were too scared, an officer noted. The woman told police Johnson had recently lost his job and was drinking a lot.

• James Mitchell Doyle, 31, Belleville, pleaded guilty June 8 to misdemeanor charges of bail jumping and possessing marijuana and was sentenced to 20 days in jail, to begin Aug. 10. His $1,000 cash bond was applied toward his fines. He still owes the court $329. Two misdemeanor counts of publicly posting a depiction of a person without consent, as well as a misdemeanor charge of possessing drug paraphernalia, were dismissed as part of a plea deal. The charges stem from two incidents, according to court records. On May 20, 2017, police were called to Doyle’s home to check the welfare of his children. Police located several baggies of marijuana and a glass pipe in the home. On Sept. 9, Doyle was reported for posting a nude, sexually explicit photo of a woman to her Facebook timeline as a way of “getting back at her for all their child custody issues” and then reposting it when she deleted it. A victim impact document filed with the court indicates she agrees with the resolution of the case.

• Antoine J. West, 34, Chicago, pleaded no contest June 11 to Class A misdemeanor charges of battery and resisting or obstructing an officer and was fined. He owes the court $779. A misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct was dismissed as part of a plea deal. The case stems from a domestic disturbance Nov. 18 at an apartment in the 300 block of 4th Street in Monroe. Court records indicate he ran from police when apprehended several blocks away.

• Kristy Jenkins, 36, Belleville, was granted a one-year deferred prosecution June 19 on a Class A misdemeanor charge of issuing worthless checks. Conditions of her deferred prosecution agreement include paying restitution and attending quarterly monitoring conferences. If she complies, the case will be fully dismissed. Court records indicate she wrote two worthless checks totaling $460.56 to Gempeler’s Market, 219 N. Main St., Monticello.
