Felonies

●  Vincent Michael Ott, 30, Green County Jail, was charged March 9 with a Class H felony count of battery by prisoners and a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct. On March 11 he signed a signature bond that prohibits contact with the victim. The case stems from an altercation at the jail Dec. 27. The criminal complaint indicates Ott and a fellow inmate were playing cards when they got into an argument. Video surveillance reportedly shows that after the other inmate went into his cell, Ott entered the cell, cornered the victim and punched him in the head while he fought back. Ott then reportedly went to take a shower and told the victim he also needed to “wash off the evidence.” A witness told a deputy the victim was bleeding from his face. Ott denied the altercation happened. The victim told an investigator he and Ott “were fine once it was over.”

●  John Vincent Adamo, 28, Redgranite Correctional Institution, pleaded no contest March 11 to one felony charge of misappropriating ID info to obtain money. Related charges were dismissed. He was sentenced to one year in prison and two years on extended supervision, to run concurrent to any other sentence. He is authorized to have his sentence transferred to the State of Tennessee. The criminal complaint indicates Adamo stole checks from a Town of Exeter resident in July after being invited to live at the residence after getting out of prison and the resident lost a total of $960 as a result.

●  Nathan Charles Siegel, 28, Belleville, pleaded no contest March 16 to misdemeanor charges of possessing THC and drug paraphernalia. Felony bail jumping charges and numerous traffic citations were dismissed as part of a plea agreement. He was sentenced to one year on probation. He was also convicted of a non-criminal traffic citation for first-offense operating while intoxicated and ordered to undergo AODA treatment and pay over $900 in fees and fines, in addition to $886 in the criminal case. The convictions stem from a rollover crash Aug. 31 near Juda. The criminal complaint indicates deputies responded to a report of a disabled vehicle along the shoulder of Wis. 11 at about 6:30 a.m. and found Siegel “attempting to hide himself” inside the severely damaged vehicle. The tires were shredded, the roof was caved in and windshield was cracked. An investigation determined Siegel lost control of the vehicle in the N2800 block of County OK, Town of Decatur, causing it to go into the west ditch and roll multiple times before colliding with a traffic sign and fence. It then plowed into a cornfield, causing crop damage. Siegel was able to drive the vehicle back onto the road. He continued south on County OK before turning westbound onto Wis. 11. The vehicle finally “succumbed to its damages” on Wis. 11. Siegel had non-life threatening injuries but told deputies he was wearing his seatbelt and was not ejected in the rollover. Officers noted he had slurred speech and the vehicle emitted a strong smell of alcohol.
