Green County Circuit Court

Felonies

●  Tyler James Corning, 20, Monroe, pleaded guilty Nov. 6 to two misdemeanor counts of theft and one misdemeanor count of receiving or concealing stolen property, all as a party to a crime. A felony charge of burglary and second count of receiving or concealing stolen property were dismissed but “read in.” Corning was sentenced to two years on probation with conditions that he pay restitution and testify in court if asked. He owes $2,279 in court assessments. He is eligible to have the convictions dismissed under a state law that grants leniency to young offenders. Court records indicate Corning and his co-defendant Donald Tiberius David Pitman, 20, Winslow, stole a woodchopper, wagon wheel and scrap metal from properties in the Towns of Jefferson and Clarno and traded some items for money at a local salvage yard. Cases against Pitman are pending.

●  Kenya Trinae Wilks, 21, Beloit, pleaded no contest Nov. 27 to two misdemeanor counts each of battery and criminal damage to property and one misdemeanor count of theft. Related charges including felony bail jumping were dismissed but “read in.” Wilks was sentenced to three years on probation, with conditions that she seek any recommended counseling or treatment. She is eligible to have her convictions dismissed under a state law that grants leniency to young offenders. In January 2018 at a residence on Washington Street in Juda, court records indicate Wilks scratched her live-in boyfriend, stole jewelry and other possessions, cut, tore or attempted to light his clothing on fire, lit his driver’s license on fire, broke his eyeglasses, threatened him with a large knife and hit him with it. Police found her “hiding” under a milk truck at a nearby business and arrested her. About two weeks later, police reported finding her at the same residence, in violation of a bond condition that she not be there.

●  Jesse Alan Partridge, 26, Monroe, had his probation revoked on a 2013 conviction of felony bail jumping and was sentenced Nov. 30 to one year in jail, with time served. Court records indicate that while on probation, Partridge sold, delivered and used marijuana, missed court-mandated appointments, was involved in an aggravated battery in 2014 and in March 2017 punched a fellow inmate at the Green County Jail in retaliation for the other inmate slapping his lunch tray and calling him fat. His probation agent noted, “Mr. Partridge’s desire to smoke THC has resulted in him selling and delivering THC to support his use.” Partridge was previously assessed over $4,700 in restitution in the case, but a judge in February cited case law in ruling that the court could no longer enforce payment of this restitution.

●  Evan Kyle Stiegert, 28, Milwaukee, was granted an 18-month stay of judgment Dec. 6 on misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct, battery and possession of drug paraphernalia, with conditions that he go to quarterly hearings and complete assessments for anger management, domestic violence and alcohol or other drug abuse (AODA) and follow through with all recommended counseling. Related charges including two felony counts of false imprisonment were dismissed as part of a plea deal. The charges stem from a disturbance at Chalet Landhaus Inn in New Glarus on July 8. A nearby guest at the hotel reported hearing a woman scream “back off of me.” When police investigated, they found Stiegert and the victim had been at a wedding reception together earlier, and the victim woke up to him climbing through the window and yelling at her. She said he was “completely irrational” and punched her, although an officer noted Stiegert “was highly intoxicated, which limited the effectiveness of his punch.”
