PLATTEVILLE — Trial dates have been changed again for an 18-year-old Platteville man who faces 11 charges for an incident in the City of Platteville impound lot.
Marcus Lee Bateman is charged with four counts of party to criminal damage to property, two count of party to entry into a locked vehicle, two counts of resisting or obstructing an officer, two counts of battery or threat to a judge, prosecutor or law enforcement official, and disorderly conduct.
Bateman waived his right to a preliminary hearing and then stood mute to the charges Nov. 16.
Bateman’s trial was moved first from the week of Jan. 17 or Jan. 24 to the week of Feb. 14 or 21, then to the week of March 14 or 21, with a status conference Feb. 28, after a status conference Wednesday. He is free on $200 cash bond.
Bateman was arrested after an officer observed people in the impound lot Nov. 6 around 1:20 a.m.
Bateman was placed on two years probation July 27 after he pleaded no contest to Lafayette County charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. A charge of possession of THC was dismissed, according to court records.
The charges were tied to Bateman’s arrest in March 2021 for attempted first-degree intentional homicide and first-degree reckless injury for a stabbing in the parking lot of Walmart in Platteville Feb. 26, 2001.
The Grant County charges were dismissed in December 2021, according to court records.
