Construction forces new Dairy Days route

MONROE - The Green County Dairy Day Parade in downtown Monroe on Saturday afternoon will follow a unique route due to streetscape work on the Square. The parade will line up in front of Monroe Middle School, as is customary, and start out on 13th Street traveling east. The route turns north onto 17th Avenue at Turner Hall to meet the Square. However, once on the Square, the parade will turn west onto 11th Street and continue all the way to the Monroe Arts Center.

This route was approved by the Public Safety Committee as an alternate to ensure safety during the construction and provide an appropriate background for the crowning of the 2009-2010 Green County queen and princess, which takes place immediately following the parade. The parade steps off at 1:30 p.m.
