Community survey on drug policies needs responses

MONROE - Through the Green County Leaders program, members are given the opportunity to serve the community through several community project workgroups.

The workgroup's current project is to address the Workplace Pillar of the Wisconsin Heroin Epidemic by trying to take inventory of existing workplace drug policies, education and resources available within Green County.

Based on the need identified through a community survey, the team is working to provide model drug policy recommendations as well as develop and provide access to training materials, share available resources and/or work toward other initiatives determined valuable by Green County businesses.

The survey has been available for several months but there has not been as much response as hoped. Letters were sent to area business leaders through several Green County communities' Chamber newsletters. The group has reached out to business leaders personally but wants to help draw the public's attention that engagement from the community is needed.

There is an online survey regarding organizations' substance abuse policies, resources and Employee Assistance Programs. Feedback is needed even if an organization currently does not have substance abuse policies, resources or an EAP.

The survey takes less than 15 minutes to complete. Visit bit.ly/gclaodasurvey to access the survey.

Participation in the survey is voluntary and responses will be kept confidential. Any information received will be available as an aggregate of all responses; individual re-sponses will not be disclosed. A summary of responses at an aggregate level will be shared later in May to participating companies.
