MONROE — The School District of Monroe announced this week a landmark partnership with Colony Brands Foundation, which has committed a $1 million donation over the next five years to support the new high school. In recognition of this extraordinary gift, the new Fieldhouse will be named The Colony Brands Fieldhouse.
This generous contribution represents one of the largest private gifts in district history and continues Colony Brands long-standing tradition of supporting both the School District of Monroe and the greater Monroe community. From scholarships and classroom resources to youth programs and community initiatives, Colony Brands has been a consistent champion for education and opportunity in Monroe for decades.
“We are deeply grateful to Colony Brands Foundation for their continued investment in our students and schools,” said Interim Superintendent Joe Monroe. “The Colony Brands Fieldhouse will serve not only as a state-of-the-art facility for athletics and physical education, but also as a hub for school and community pride. This gift ensures that future generations of Cheesemakers will benefit from opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom.”
The Colony Brands Foundation, the charitable arm of Colony Brands, has long believed in strengthening the community through education, wellness, and opportunity.
“Colony Brands has called Monroe home for nearly a century, and we are proud that the Foundation can give back in a way that will benefit students and families for generations to come,” said John Baumann, President of the Colony Brands Foundation. “The new Fieldhouse will be a place where students learn teamwork, perseverance, and leadership — values that have always been at the heart of our community and our company. This gift has been made possible by the decades-long hard work and dedication of Colony Brands employees, and the amazing generosity of Pat Kubly and Ryan Kubly.”
The new Monroe High School, currently under construction, represents a historic investment in the future of public education in the city, Monroe said. The addition of the Colony Brands Fieldhouse will provide expanded opportunities for athletics, physical education, and community events, all while honoring the legacy of one of Monroe’s most dedicated community partners.
“The School District of Monroe extends its heartfelt appreciation to Colony Brands Foundation for this remarkable commitment and looks forward to celebrating the official opening of the Colony Brands Fieldhouse when the new high school opens its doors,” Monroe wrote in a press release Sept. 23.
