Clinic loosens visitation rules

MONROE - Since October, Monroe Clinic has restricted hospital visitation to only those over age 18. Due to a decreased number of cases of H1N1 flu, and the increase of vaccinated individuals, Monroe Clinic is loosening its visitation policy.

All hospital visitors are asked to follow these guidelines:

• Do not visit if you are under 13 years old.

• Do not visit the hospital if you are ill.

• Keep the number of visitors and length of visits to a minimum.

• Practice hand hygiene before and after each visit with a patient.

• If possible, call patients to give your well wishes instead of visiting.

For the family birth center, all immediate family over 13 and grandparents are welcome. Those not vaccinated for H1N1 are required to complete hand hygiene and wear a surgical mask before entering a patient room.
