MONROE - Becker's Hospital Review once again named Monroe Clinic among its 100 Great Community Hospitals. A nationwide review of community hospitals based on exceptional performance in the area of clinical quality, operational excellence and economic impact in the communities served determines the recipients of this accolade.
"This list emphasizes the role community hospitals serve in our nation's health care landscape. It's compiled through Becker's extensive research and review process. This multiyear recognition is due to our team's dedication to collaboration for healthcare excellence," Paula Elmer, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, Monroe Clinic vice president and chief nursing officer, said in a news release.
Hospitals considered for this list have 550 or fewer beds and are located in both suburban and rural areas across the nation. Experts evaluate hospitals throughout the nation based on original research or national rankings from review boards, such as iVantage Health Analytics, Truven Health Analytics, Healthgrades and CareChex. Hospitals that are continuously improving while consistently providing quality care are included among the 100.
In the release, Elmer explained how the data and research behind health rankings and recognitions are part of an important conversation throughout the health care industry.
"The results from this information sharing means higher quality care for patients," she said. "As for Monroe Clinic, it offers our team encouragement to keep moving forward, keep improving, as a way to best serve our community."
