MONROE - The Street Department will pick Christmas trees up until Jan. 31, 2010 at no cost.
Beginning Feb. 1, Christmas trees will require a $2 yard waste sticker be placed on them before they can be picked up.
The City of Monroe will recycle wrapping paper. Put wrapping paper with mixed paper and follow these guidelines.
Remove ribbons and bows
Flatten and fold wrapping paper
Place in blue bag
Do not ball up and place in cardboard boxes. Cardboard should be flattened and tied in bundles.
The Street Department will be picking up storm damage as time allows. Place broken limbs on the terrace for collection.
