BRODHEAD - The City of Brodhead Street Department will be performing road work on 1st Center Avenue, near the railroad crossing south of Exchange Street, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27.
The highway will be closed and there will be a detour for through traffic.
At Wisconsin 11 and County 104, westbound traffic on Wis. 11/1st Center Avenue will be detoured south on County T to 23rd Street, then west on 23rd Street back to the highway. Eastbound traffic on Wis. 11 will be detoured east onto 23 Street, north to County T, and back to the highway.
Local northbound traffic will be allowed to travel to the downtown area; however, the highway will be completely closed between 12th Street and Exchange Street. Local drivers in the road work area should remain alert for work crews and repair equipment entering and leaving the work area, said Brodhead Police Chief Thomas Moczynski.
