MONROE - In a meeting Tuesday, the City of Monroe Salary and Personnel Committee:
• Discussed and approved retaining services of Attorney Todd Schluesche for outside legal counsel to assist with hiring of City Administrator with Legal Duties.
• Discussed health insurance facility fees and authorized payment of the fees for everyone covered under city health insurance plan retroactive to Jan. 1, 2009, until the end of the current year. The committee asked for the issue to be revisited again in January 2010.
• Went into closed session for about an hour to discuss candidates and compensation for Wastewater Utility Superintendent position, and to discuss candidates, reference checks, and compensation for the vacant city administrator with legal duties position.
• Voted to relist the position of the soon-to-be vacant Wastewater Utility Superintendent position, and approved two candidates from four current applications for reference checks.
