MONROE - At a meeting Monday, the City of Monroe Salary and Personnel Committee:
Discussed PEHP/VEBA plans and requested a representative from the company to discuss the plans with employees.
Discussed and recommended to council to approve 2010 wages for election inspectors, non-salary fire department personnel, part-time recreation department employees, and other part-time employees.
Approved posting for applications for two additional part-time, on-call, seasonal snow removal personnel for airport.
Met in closed session to discuss candidates and compensation for "Wastewater Utility Superintendent" position; to discuss qualifications of union member candidates who posted for WWTP Maintenance Mechanic position; to discuss strategy for negotiating with union; and to discuss 2010 compensation for department heads and non-union personnel
Returned to open session.
Recommend to council to approve salaries and wages for department heads/non-union personnel for 2010. The motion was made to keep compensation increases to one-half percent of budget, because of the economic times, and four department heads received increases.
