MONROE - In a meeting Monday, the City of Monroe Public Safety Committee recommended to Council to approve special events for Main Street Maxwell Street Days/Summer Fair on the Square, Aug. 7-8; Crossroads Community Church Movies in the Park Neighborhood Event, Aug. 14 and 28; and Northern Illinois/Southern Wisconsin Fire Rescue Monroe Fire School, Aug. 13-16. Members Charles Koch and Paul Hannes were absent.

Police Chief Fred Kelley said his department is preparing to become a Wisconsin Department of Transportation vehicle registration renewal site later this month.
