MONROE - In a meeting Tuesday, the City of Monroe Finance & Taxation Committee:

• Postponed increasing building permits and inspection fees until the city enters into contract negotiations with Building & Zoning Administration, which administers the building inspector duties. The BZA contract is set to expire March 31, 2011.

• Approved unanimously spending $18,725 to hire Gentz Electric Inc., Monroe, to install computer cables and jack in the city hall, and to spend $3,300 for materials to be used in the computer system rewiring project from CDW-G, Vernon Hills, Ill. Council budgeted $25,000 for the project in its 2010 budget.

• Voted unanimously to send a letter of intent not to automatically renew a contract for technical services with System Management Group, Inc., which is due to end Dec. 31, 2010.
