MONROE - In a meeting Tuesday, the City of Monroe Finance and Taxation Committee:
• Recommended council approve signature resolutions for First National Bank and Trust to include authorizing Mayor Bill Ross.
• Recommended council approve $250 donation to American Legion to cover Memorial Day expenses.
• Reviewed and discussed proposed increases for building permit and inspection fees. Committee agreed to meet with building inspector Rex Henke to review and adjust fees in more detail May 18.
• Recommended council approve purchase of a public safety server for $35,000 from Spillman Technologies. Police Chief Fred Kelley said the company offered the system, installed, at a savings of $40,000. Chief Kelley said funds would come from his department's capital account.
