MONROE - In a meeting Monday, the City of Monroe Common Council:
Voted unanimously to vacate and discontinue a right of way at 20th Avenue North of 5th Street, near Monroe Clinic.
Authorized unanimously hiring Fehr-Graham and Associates at $2,400 and Ehlers and Associates at $1,750 to partner on TID 6 amendment.
Authorized unanimously hiring Taylor W. Heiman as a replacement sworn police officer at the union contract hourly wage of $21.89.
Approved unanimously claims in the amount of $1,023,706.70.
Increased Police Department fees to $20 per day for impound lot storage.
Authorized the creation of a pedestrian crossing at the intersection of 12th Avenue and 9th Street.
Approved special events for Main Street St. Patrick's Day Parade March 17 and Cystic Fibrosis Charity Walk May 15.
Established a 15 mile-per-hour speed limit and pedestrian crossings in the 400 and 500 blocks of 22nd Avenue, near Monroe Clinic.
Granted electrical appliance dealer license to Mark Blum (Dave Jones Plumbing & Heating); secondhand article dealer license to Computer Heroes, Inc. (Joshua Montgomery); secondhand jewelry dealer license to Luecke's Diamond Center (Charles M. Luecke); and operator's licenses to Kristin M. Blankenhorn, Todd C. Coy, Alexanderia M. Lee, Dallas A Tourdot and Carla S. Yeagle.
