MONROE - In a meeting Tuesday, the City of Monroe Common Council:

• Heard from Anthony Wickersham, a candidate for 27th District State Senate seat, who is challenging Sen. Jon Erpenbach, D-Waunakee.

• Set a public hearing date of May 18 for an ordinance amending Monroe City Code, Section 5-10.5-5: Permitted and Conditional Uses in the M-3 Industrial Park District.

• Approved unanimously claims in the amount of $613,052.42.

• Approved a special event for Carenet Pregnancy Center of Green County Walk for Life.

• Approved installation of a no parking zone in 2200 Block of 5th Street.

• Approved installation of a no parking zone in 1700 Block of 12th Street.

• Granted an operator's licenses to Jeffrey J. Shaffer.

• Approved unanimously an operation and maintenance assistance agreement with Carrico Aquatic Resources, Inc.

• Approved unanimously a change order to a contract with Irv's Masonry, for the downtown streetscape project.
