MONROE- The last program in 2010 of Midday Masterworks, a quarterly organ mini-recital series now in its ninth year, will take a different direction from the usual repertoire.
The Circle of Friends, a women's trio and their accompanist, will be the featured guest performers at the Oct. 27 program, set for 12:15 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Monroe; and then repeated at 5:30 p.m. at St. Victor Catholic Church, Monroe.
Midday Masterworks' founder and organist, Deborah Krauss Smith, also sings with the Circle of Friends.
The ensemble recently released a CD in conjunction with leading services of music earlier this month at St. John's UCC in Monroe. The group's vocalists also include Pam Wyss, mezzo, and Deb Krattiger, alto; and they are accompanied by pianist Brenda Payne.
The half-hour programs are free and open to the public.
