SHULLSBURG - A 4-year-old was injured after being run over by a vehicle at about noon Saturday on North Mineral Street in Shullsburg.
According to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department, Angela R. Sandlin, 38, Shullsburg, parked her 1987 Nissan illegally on North Mineral Street and excited the vehicle. Nevada E. Sandlin, 4, was playing in the vehicle and either manipulated the shifting lever or the emergency brake which caused the vehicle to roll backward down a hill, according to the Sheriff's department.
The child jumped from the vehicle and was run over as the vehicle continued to travel down the hill. The child was taken to Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County by Shullsburg Ambulance for a leg injury.
The child's condition was not immediately available.
Sandlin's vehicle hit a house and came to a stop after it hit a landscape wall.
The Shullsburg Fire Department assisted at the scene.
