MONROE - Green County Cheese Days is currently seeking designs for the circular "button logo" for the 2012 festival.

The logo that is selected will be reproduced in a variety of ways, including on T-shirts and commemorative steins.

The logo contest is open to both professional and amateur artists.

Sketches and logo ideas submitted by amateurs may be used in developing a concept - but from these ideas Cheese Days reserves the right to have a final design professionally produced in a format acceptable for multiple applications, including print, screen-print, and large signs. Designs submitted in full-color may also be simplified.

Festival organizers are looking for a design to creatively showcase the traditions of cheesemaking, dairy farming, and Swiss heritage.

Designs in the past have featured cheese, alpenhorns, Swiss shields and flags, and dairy cattle. To view previous button logos beginning with the button dating back to the second festival held in 1915, visit the history page on the Cheese Days web site www.cheesedays.com.

Designs must include the words "Green County Cheese Days," and "Monroe, Wisconsin" and also should include the dates of the festival, Sept. 14 - 16, 2012.

The words September and Wisconsin can be abbreviated.

Designs and design ideas can be submitted by mail to Jim Bruce, 1016 N. Second St., Monroe, WI 53566, OR by email to radioguy1@charter.net. Acceptable submission formats include electronic files, final designs on paper, and concept sketches. Contact Jim Bruce at 608.329.4009 with questions. Designs are due by April 15, 2011.
