JANESVILLE - Charter Communications cable subscribers will be able to tune in to the Big Ten Network in their living room in time to catch Saturday's kickoff between the Wisconsin Badgers and Akron at Camp Randall Stadium.
Charter announced Thursday that its agreement with the Big Ten Network on Wednesday gave it just enough time to get things set up for Saturday's games. Charter will position BTN on expanded basic channel 50 and high-definition channel 795. Expanded basic is the level of service other core programming services are located on, such as CNN, USA Network and ESPN.
"Our engineering team has done an incredible job in a short period of time to install and test the electronic equipment needed to bring BTN to our customers in time for this Saturday's kickoff," said John Miller, Charter's director of communication.
Charter announced Wednesday that it had reached a multi-year distribution agreement with BTN, in which Charter will carry the Big Ten Network and related programming throughout the Big Ten territory, including its systems in Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and northern Illinois.
