MONROE - A felony charge was filed last week in Green County Circuit Court against a Brodhead man involved in a crash in June that killed 52-year-old Donald E. Ormond, Monroe.
Hipolito Roque Pascual, 44, faces a Class I felony count of knowingly operating a vehicle without a valid license, causing great bodily harm.
According to a Green County Sheriff's Department investigation of the June 12 crash:
Roque Pascual was driving a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville westbound on Wisconsin 11 when he turned southbound onto County G in front of Ormond, who was driving a 1982 Kawasaki motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the rear passenger side of the car, and Ormond was ejected.
A third driver involved in the crash, Charlotte J. Walters, 70, Milton, was eastbound on Wis. 11 in a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban when she struck Ormond and the motorcycle, causing the motorcycle to catch fire and killing Ormond.
Roque Pascual is also cited for driving without vehicle insurance and failure to yield when making a left turn.
