MONROE — The Monroe Chamber of Commerce is welcoming new leadership to a group that’s a vital link in marketing Monroe to the world and promoting hometown companies and business interests.

Marcey Ciaccio was recently named the group’s new executive director, Chamber President Steve Brewer, of SSM Health, announced in an email to chamber members.

Chamber Director Ciaccio takes over for former executive director Melissa Even. Ciaccio previously served in leadership roles for SSM Health.

“Marcey comes to the Chamber with a host of experiences in community outreach and collaborations, business solutions, marketing, and project management,” Brewer said in his statement.

Several board members agreed. “We’re very excited about having her come on board,” said Melissa Thompson, the group’s vice president, who works at First Weber Hedeman Group. “She brings a wealth of experience to the role.”

Brewer also named Ally Langkamp to an expanded role overseeing day-to-day office operations; as well as managing chamber events.

Board member Angie Parr, of Bank of New Glarus, said the chamber is grateful to have such local talent from which to draw its new leadership.

“I worked with her previously at SSM Health was able to see her professionalism first hand and the commitment she put forth for that job,” said Parr.

Langkamp, as office and events manager, is also a great addition to the leadership team, according to Parr. Langkamp hit the ground running when, on one of her first days, she helped with the chamber’s annual golf outing, one of its top events, she said.

“We are redefining the roles to provide better opportunities for our members,” said Thompson.
