Had this Dennis Dalton photo been noticed before the "Monroe Area Pictorial History" was printed in 2016, it would have been printed as the top photo on page 53. This photo clearly shows Bernet's Cheese and Sausage Shop when it was housed in a portion of the City Hotel, as well as the sign for the Swiss Village strip mall beyond that. The Monroe Junior High School is at the end of the block. Many of the photos in the pictorial history help to show where many of the buildings in Monroe were in relation to other buildings, as this photograph does.
