A large crowd attends the dedication of a monument to the original Swiss settlers of New Glarus at the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the village. This statue of a settler still stands in front of the Swiss Church at
1st Street and 5th Avenue. The supports of the welcome arch have the dates 1845 and 1915 and the German phrases "Einen fur Alle" and "Alle fur Einen," which translate to: "One for All" and "All for One."
This photo and many more can be found in the New Glarus and Green County collection at the Wisconsin Digital Collection: https://uwdc.library.wisc.edu/collections/wi/newglarus. The New Glarus Historical Society Inc. was founded in 1938 to not only preserve the unique history of New Glarus but to share it through the Swiss Historical Village and Museum that it owns and operates.
