Celebrating Our Past: Green County Historical Society
36894a.jpg
When could you get oyster strew for 40 cents? Who would serve your drinks in a vest and tie with an apron? Where would this saloon have been located? This photo was loaned to the Green County Historical Society with the relatively sure knowledge it was taken in Green County and probably Monroe. The only marking is faded in cursive that appears to say, art kiel. Lance Sathoff has been collecting tavern memorabilia and information about taverns in Monroe for more than a year. If you can answer any of these questions asked here or have any information, photos, or memorabilia that Sathoff may copy, contact him at lsathoff@wekz.net or 608-558-1038.
