This photograph of the 1934 Monroe High School football team came from the Bauman family collection. The team finished the season with a 4-2-1 record. Using the partial identification on the back of the photograph, Archie Myers, MHS class of 1938, did his best to identify the rest. In the back row are Jack Share, manager Thurman Craigo, Donald Janke, Fred Goecks, Bill Shriner, Leon Kubly, Chester Woodle, John Keel, Gov Zimmerman, Roy Haman, an unidentified man, Otto Munz, Alvin Babler, Chuck Figi, and coach Edmund Brown. In the middle row are Bill Bauman, Earl Jordan, and two unidentified men. In the front row are Dave Bennett, Willard Tschanz, George Walker, Clint Blackbourne, Henry White, Walter Brugger, and another unidentified man. Contact Matt Figi of the Green County Historical Society at mfigi48@tds.net or 325-6503 if you can identify any of the unidentified men. (Photo supplied by the Green County Historical Society)
