BELLEVILLE - At least one shot was fired following an alleged disagreement at a home in the Town of Exeter early Saturday, according to the Green County Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff's are investigating the shooting, which took place at a residence at W3026 Doyle Road in Exeter township about five miles south of Belleville.

Green County Sheriff Randy Roderick said deputies received a report at about 12:30 a.m. of a sports utility vehicle with a flat tire on Wisconsin 92. Deputies were told the three men inside the vehicle were acting suspicious.

The three African-American males told the deputies they were on their way to Madison when they had a flat tire. Deputies noticed a bullet hole in the passenger door. They told deputies they had left a residence on Doyle Road after a disagreement with the occupant of the home. The occupant then shot at their vehicle as they were leaving.

Deputies immediately went to the home on Doyle Road but didn't find anyone at home. The two-story home on Doyle Road was rented for the past several months by an African-American male and a white female.

A search warrant was issued and detectives searched the home, which confirmed the occupants had left the residence.

Detectives are looking for leads in the case.; it's believed the occupant of the home left the area, Roderick said. No one has been charged in the incident.

Roderick wouldn't comment further about the case because the investigation is ongoing.
