What are the top issues facing this district/board and how would you work to resolve them?

Open enrollment is one of the top issues. Several parents open enroll their children out without even coming into the district to see what Albany has to offer. In order to stop this, we need to work on more effectively communicating the positive changes that have been made in ASD (advanced classes, telepresence, sports offerings, tablets for MS/HS students) and the future initiatives that are making ASD a better and stronger learning environment.

What are other key issues facing the district/board, and how would you work to resolve them?

The budget is one of the major issues facing schools. We need to look at innovative ways to utilize the current available resources more efficiently.

Continually advancing technology creates another challenge. We will develop a comprehensive technology plan that will allow us keep technology at the school up to date and have it utilized to enhance student instruction.
