What are the top issues facing this district/municipality and how would you work to resolve it?

Since putting my name in for consideration, the School's Principal resigned so ensuring the school's faculty have support and stability and the children have someone in a leadership capacity they can look up to but also is able to provide guidance and direction is essential. There are many positive things about the school and the offerings and one of those is the caring, dedicated staff. While the district may be small, the opportunities afforded to the kids and the community as a whole through the school are many and it is my hope that being a part of offering support to the leader and the school community, we are fostering a long term environment of learning, growing and producing well rounded children. The staff at Argyle does not view their role as just a job but a commitment to the kids and show compassion and interest in their well-being and success - I don't know that this is the reality in other schools. As a parent, this is a gift to have a sense of knowing your kids matter and they are not only being taught but are mentored.

What are other key issues facing the district/municipality, and how would you work to resolve them?

The school recently completed an addition and upgrades to the school and while this is being positively received and utilized by the faculty and students, there are many taxpayers who may not see the day to day benefit. Being able to continue to highlight the effects of the investment will be key to continue to ensure support and community engagement in the school. Highlighting the improvements and the overall supportive culture of the school will hopefully draw others to see the positives of attending a smaller school that has invested in the ability to position kids to achieve career training and goals prior to entering the workforce or higher education.

Why are you the best candidate for this office?

Not sure it is a contested race with 3 vacancies and 3 running but if you need something:

Mike and I are both graduates of Argyle schools and we take a lot of pride in what it offers. We have family ties and friendships we value in this community and feel it is an honor to be able to serve in whatever way is needed. Our children are so lucky to be able to have a variety of opportunities to choose from and participate in academically, musically, and athletically. I want to see Argyle continue to foster an environment of ensuring success for our children resulting in support for the community long term.
