What are the top issues facing this district/municipality and how would you work to resolve it?

Flat budgets have made it difficult to provide the infrastructure and services needed. Our community demographics are also changing, especially with our aging population, which impacts service priorities and our workforce. On a positive note, our cultural and agricultural roots make us unique and are assets to be celebrated, preserved, and used to attract new residents, visitors, and businesses. We also have pillar businesses that are core to our economic success. The volunteering done by our residents also shows the deep commitment to our community. As a new board member, I will listen to concerns, research information about the issues, and work with other board members to find innovative solutions that build on local assets the community values.

What are other key issues facing the district/municipality, and how would you work to resolve them?

There are always going to be new issues that come up. As a board member, I will use my technical and interpersonal skills to help understand the issues, identify potential solutions, and recommend options to resolve them.

Why are you the best candidate for this office?

I love living in Green County and believe I have the skills and passion to represent the people of my district. My perspective on the issues comes from my personal experiences as:

• Farmer/Business Partner - We own the family farm and know the challenges facing farmers today.

• Data/Information Professional - In my current position as a data services consultant, I've seen how exploring data and researching trends can support strategic initiatives.

• Engineer - With over 10 years in manufacturing, I appreciate the value of "made local," the need for skilled workers, and the importance of STEM education.

• Educator - With over 10 years as a Teacher-Librarian, I understand how people learn and that all ages need to continue learning. I also respect the role public libraries play in this process.

• Mother - We have a safe community with great schools, parks, and sports/club opportunities, which gave me a few less things to worry about as a mother.

• Swiss Music Fan - I can't sing, but enjoy and appreciate our Swiss roots. I also welcome other cultures/ethnicities to our community.

I hope residents of District 26 will vote for me and, if elected, I look forward to being their voice in Green County Government.
