What are the top issues facing this district/municipality and how would you work to resolve it?
Safety of the Brodhead students is one of my top priorities. I would make sure the district is actually following policies and that those policies actually make sense.
Why are you the best candidate for this office?
I have been a resident of Brodhead for 40 years and have 2 children in the Brodhead School District. With my background in the construction field and building maintenance I have a great understanding of what is involved in maintaining our school buildings and the potential for safety concerns. I have shown this by bringing school district plumbing cross connections to the attention of the district that could have been life threating. I have also shown from my actions as the past President of Kid Connection Albrecht Elementary School my passion for providing a safe environment for Brodhead students by implementing the rubber mulch playground project to create a safer playground, while also creating barriers for the playground that was located in an active parking lot. I also have addressed the administration to update school board policies concerning bullying to actually reflect in the code of conduct and to revamp a poorly implemented volunteer application and background check process.
