MONROE - Dementia Friendly Community efforts are about engaging the community in supporting the 115,000 people in Wisconsin who are living with dementia (70 percent of whom are living in their own residence) and their families and friends. In southwest Wisconsin (Grant, Green, Iowa, and Lafayette counties), there are 50 businesses and organizations that have participated in the training and are committed to being dementia aware. These organizations include a wide range of sectors such as restaurants, libraries, veterinary clinics, banks, churches and first responders.
